When I had talked to John the other week, he said he’d like a copy of the letter I wrote to my cousin about my experience with mercury fillings, so I decided to write your own letter.  It’s been at least 15 years ago when I first started losing my voice.  At first it was every few years that I would lose my voice, then it increased to once a year, then twice a year, and the last ½ year prior to the removal of my fillings I lost my voice at least three times.  It used to be up to three weeks that I couldn’t even make a sound when I tried to talk and when it did start coming back it took weeks until it even sounded normal.  Every time the doctor said I had laryngitis and bronchitis.  The antibiotics and not using my voice, never seemed to help much.  In the last year I had a pulmonary test done and they said I had, COPD, so the doctor started me on two different inhalers.  I actually seemed to get worse after that as in just a matter of weeks I lost my voice again and it took me longer to recover my voice than ever.  So I quit the inhalers.  I was sent to a nose, throat and ear specialist and also was on steroids for a short time.  But he couldn’t find anything wrong.  He said I just must have had a very bad case of laryngitis and he said just rest your voice two more weeks and it should be okay, but I wasn’t.  It took several weeks until I even sounded somewhat normal.  I always thought my problem went deeper than just laryngitis.  I was off from work so much that last half year my coworkers actually though I had cancer.  I know they were concerned and meant it well when they said something.  But in no way was I planning to go back to the doctors, as they didn’t help me with anything, and I didn’t feel like they understood my problems.

I also was always very pale and could never gain any weight no matter how much on what I ate, and I was so fatigued a lot of the times.  I felt really discouraged some of the times, at least half of the year and prayed that God would give me wisdom and guide me to someone that could help me if it was His will.  I had a “BTA” test done in that last year that had showed my body was extremely stressed with heavy metals, but at the time I wasn’t really thinking of my fillings in my teeth yet.  I had been to a reflexologist just a few weeks before I called your office for an appointment- We were discussing my health problems and I had mentioned my test I had done showed my body was extremely stressed with heavy metals, and we got on the subject of “amalgam fillings”.  They very much recommended me to have my fillings replaced and said I better not wait too long.

I talked to a few people who had it done, and they said it made them feel much better.  I originally planned to go elsewhere, but then I talked with Mrs. Elvin and she told me she thinks people have gotten better results at Dr. Hartman’s office.  So I prayed about it and felt God led me to you.  I will tell anybody that the removal of my fillings certainly has made a great change in my health.  In two years since I’ve had it done, I haven’t even lost my voice one time and my sinus problems are much less!  Also I’m not pale all the time like I used to be.  My face has a lot more color too and the first time in 12 years I have gained some weight.  I am not nearly so tired all the time either.

Dear Dr. Hartman and Staff,

Over the years I developed a number of vague, unexplained symptom, none of which were understood or addressed by our family doctors, but had sharply reduced my physical and mental capacities both from professional and social standpoints.  These symptoms included difficulties with long and short term memory, fatigue, ringing in the ears, a weakened immune system, poor indigestion, irregular hormone levels, and reduced coordination.  As a mother of three, with a husband who traveled regularly, this was devastating.  I learned two years ago that an autoimmune thyroid disease had set in many years ago and had become quite advanced.  Since that time, I’ve worked with the appropriate diet, allergy treatments, supplements, and thyroid medications, assuming the problems would resolve.

However, fatigue, a tendency to drop things, ringing in the ears, and sharply reduced mental alertness persisted despite therapy.  I changed doctors and underwent numerous types of testing that indicated I had a very high level of mercury in my system, in addition to varying levels of inappropriate electrical current stemming from amalgam fillings.

It’s hard to accept the idea that dental treatment can compromise one’s health so severely, so I was reluctant to immediately have my fillings removed by a specialist.  Working with a nutritionist, I began a regimen of supplements and foods that would absorb and reduce the mercury levels in my body, and took additional measures to detoxify my body and heavy metals through the skin.  It was clearly beneficial and improved my energy and alertness… up to a point.  I quickly realized that any gains I made by doing these things were quickly lost if I experienced a week or ever a few days where I couldn’t get hard exercise and follow the diet/supplement recommendations.

After finding your office, I decided to have my individual teeth tested and follow your recommendations for amalgam removal. In just two days after the first fillings were removed, I woke up with a mental clarity I hadn’t experienced in over 15 years!  In addition to this, my energy level began to improve immediately. It has only been a few weeks, yet my energy level is at least high as it was in my 20s!

Results from your treatment have been phenomenal and opens up my life to possibilities that hadn’t existed for years.  The amalgam removal, combined with continuing the appropriate measures to remove heavy metals, has undone a set of symptoms that took years to develop in a remarkably short time.

Even though it was initially difficult to accept the expense of this treatment, I find I’ll be able to avoid taking supplements that helped manage my mercury levels within a few months.  Additionally, it’s a very small investment when I consider the quality of life this treatment affords me, as well as the professional opportunities it open up for my future.

It’s frustrating to think of how many other lives have been and continue to be so negatively affected by deteriorating amalgam fillings.  It’s also very heartwarming to know there is a team of people in Huntingdon willing to take the risk of steady exposure to such harmful materials in order to make life so very much better for others.

Two weeks ago after you finished removing the amalgam from the upper left of my mouth a remarkable thing happened to me.

Over the recent years I have been slowly losing some peripheral vision.  It seemed reasonable to assume this was the result of my age.  During the past ten years a strong ringing developed in my left ear.  The same had happened with my right ear over the past 20 plus years.  The ringing just never stops and I have grown to ignore it.  However, one practical result of these two factors is that I have found it be more stressful to drive, especially in confusing traffic patterns because my lack of good hearing and reduced peripheral vision makes me feel insecure about surprises coming at me from the sides with no way to sense the incursion.

About two hours following your work on the upper left of my mouth, we were driving in the countryside on a clear and bright day.  Suddenly, my eyes started feelings like something was moving them around right in the sockets.  My sinuses felt as though a river was rushing through (although my nose did not run).  My throat started to tighten and a headache started to invade—although it never really took hold.  I became alarmed thinking something was really going wrong.  I told my wife she might have to take over the driving and we might need to seek medical attention.

The sensation mounted to the above description over a period about 20 minutes.  Then just as suddenly as it started, it stopped I an instant.  Immediately, I sensed a wider range of peripheral vision and the ringing in my left ear was gone.  It was like a new and bright day with better sight and hearing.

This improved condition has persisted since—and I am hearing certain sounds that had been lost years ago.

On February 2, 2004, I had three teeth filled.  The type of filling used by the dentist, though I was not aware of it at the time, was amalgam mercury.  Several weeks later I began to feel extremely weak.  In fact, I began to think that somehow I had contracted chronic fatigue syndrome since I could hardly coax myself out of bed.

Dr. Hartman we are grateful for your training that has now been used to help our family take one more step forward. It has been admittedly very costly. None of us knows, no matter how good a steward what will be permitted in our faith journey on this earth; but, we are grateful to the Lord for promising to never leave us in the midst of it. Too much He has given, much is demanded. He is entrusting each of us to do our part.

We do not know what lies ahead for Heather. There is much more to learn and to do to take care of what the Lyme has caused her body. We ask you to remember her in prayer. She belongs to the Lord and He has His purposes for calling her and us to carry this cup for Him. We need to rely on His team to be able to do that. Know that you have been a part of something very special. And stay tuned. He’s not finished with us yet.

Being reminded that the Lord is faithful and always with us is a reassurance we all need to help encourage each other. It goes far beyond our little circles. And each patient is an opportunity to minister Christ to. We never know that God will call us to- both in the giving and the receiving. But, it makes all the difference in our ability to carry it when He surrounds us with brothers and sisters in Christ. It is comforting to see how He beings that about. He led us to you.
